Sept. 15 crypto and tech roundup: treasury moves, U.S. bills and AI funding dominate
A dense wave of crypto and technology updates emerged between Sept. 14 and Sept. 15, spanning Bitcoin and Ether treasury activity, U.S. digital-asset legislation, AI financing, protocol governance and security incidents. Strategy reported no BTC purchases last week while its dollar reserves fell by $140 million to $6.4 billion, and Strive said it added 469 BTC for $36.6 million, bringing total holdings to 25,000 BTC. Bitmine kept expanding its Ether reserve strategy, lifting its ETH position to 5,956,378 coins, while Abraxas Capital was reported to be holding more than $980 million in short positions on Hyperliquid. On the regulatory side, the U.S. Senate scheduled a cloture vote on the CLARITY Act for Tuesday at 2:15 p.m. ET, while the House Financial Services Committee is set to review the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve bill on Sept. 16. SEC Chair Paul Atkins said the agency would continue moving on its crypto agenda regardless of the bill’s outcome. Elsewhere, Kaiko closed a $110 million round led by S&P Global, Temporal raised $550 million at a $12.55 billion valuation, and Cornelis secured $205 million. Nvidia expanded CUDA-Q with a fault-tolerant quantum orchestration layer, and Microsoft released a draft AI behavior code that says its systems must not resist shutdown or correction.
